Last year’s Data 2.0 Conference 2011 hosted 420 attendees April 4th 2011 in San Francisco with keynote speakers including Vivek Wadhwa, TechCrunch contributor as well as Joe Lonsdale, founder of Palantir. Highlights from last year’s event include a Twitter announcement and Datasift partnership profiled in TechCrunch. Data 2.0 Conference 2011 focused on discussions around Making Data Accessible. Startup pitch judges included Robert Scoble, Start Liaison Officer at Rackspace and Andy Jenks, partner at EMC Ventures.

The Data 2.0 Summit’s theme ‘The Deep Web’ will focus on discussions about new API’s, web protocols, and data standards can add depth and meaningfulness to the web.

Topics addressed at the Data 2.0 Summit 2012 include the Open Web versus the Closed Web, Creating a Business API Strategy, and Building on Social Data.     The beauty of these blogging engines and CMS platforms is the lack of limitations and ease of manipulation that allows developers to implement rich content and ‘skin’ the site in such a way that with very little effort one would never notice what it is making the site tick all without limiting content and effectiveness.
